In December, the beach is a great place to watch Mother Nature do her thing in spectacular fashion. Venice-Italy-The-Bird-Lady Venice is an old and somewhat eccentric city in Italy. Built long ago on marshlands, I was surprised to find myself spending my first night in the city with the bird lady. For budget travelers, Sweden is a bit expensive. Ya-Mule-Backpacking-in-Siena-Italy Ah, the glamour of backpacking through Europe. While its old world charm is evident during the day, it can be a real pain at night.
