How-to-Pick-the-Best-Acne-Skin-Cream-for-Your-Skin-Type

By: Rees Sklear

The most popular of the acne creams are not necessarily the best for you to use. Skin types vary and so do tolerance levels for the acne creams on the skin. Some may even have a harsh affect and cause the skin to dry out. Skin type is important, whether it is acidic, oily or combination skin. This is the first factor along with the ingredients in the actual product that you are choosing to use for a determination of the best acne creams for you.

Chemical ingredients or lack of them is something to think about in choosing an acne cream. Keep your skin type in mind, as well as the cost of the cream you are looking at and of course, how effective the product is. Reading reviews is a good way to find out how these products have performed for others - of course, as the old saw has it, your mileage may vary.

Some of the acne creams out there have chemicals in them which may dry out and irritate your skin. These can leave your skin looking wrinkled and aged. Mild treatments are a better bet. Look at the label and choose products containing lower levels of ingredients like benzoyl peroxide. A mild wash which has antiseptic properties is also a good choice. There is also such a thing as too mild; so you'll need to find a balance between the two.

If you want to prevent too high of an acidity level in your skin, then you should stay away from products which contain Salicylic acid or Azeliaic acid. There are plenty of products available which do not contain these ingredients. If you have oily skin then you should look for acne creams which are oil free and will not clog your pores. For oily skin, a gel might be the best choice.

Then there are those that want to treat acne on combination skin. What works on one part of the face may irritate another part and isolating one area from the other is difficult. A mild treatment on one part of the face may have no affect on another part of the face and a harsh treatment may have effects on areas of the skin where it was not placed. There are some factors that make an acne skin cream work for all of the issues with the various skin types.

You should choose acne creams which have been tested and presented no problems for users of any skin type. The best such acne creams are those which contain the B vitamin derivative niacinamide. You should choose an acne cream which works on mild and severe cases of acne alike. Once you know this, you will have no trouble choosing an acne cream which is perfect for your skin type.

There are few of these acne creams that have passed testing with no problem. They are the ones that are the most consistent with the results and that have to have the fewest side effects when used on the skin. These would by far be the best choice for use.
